Staff spotlight series: Hayden Noone

Continuing our Staff Spotlight Series, we shine a light on the people behind Leighton O’Brien who make the company tick. We are pleased to announce this spotlight is shining on Hayden Noone!

Describe what you do and the best part of your job?

I’m in the Wetstock Operations team and work with our fuel retail clients to analyse their fuel reconciliation data via our certified loss monitoring method to provide compliance results.

I also lead the implementation of our AMS product (Alarm Management Solution). At its most basic level AMS is a tool that monitors alarms from ATGs at a fuel site and reports it in a way for customers to easily act on. I bring clients onto the program and provide ongoing support to ensure they’re getting the most value from the software.

The best part of my job is helping solve customers’ problems to make their work easier. As we have the knowledge and the tools we can say to clients here’s how you can direct your actions to save time and money, improve the customer experience or mitigate environmental risk. Helping customers resolve these issues is very rewarding.

What do clients love about your work?

I believe my clients like that I am accessible and try to see things from their perspective; it helps me find solutions in creative ways. I’d like to think I take away some of their headaches by collaborating and figuring things out, like a SIRA fuel loss investigation, for example.

What key thing have you learnt from working at Leighton O’Brien?

Apart from a great deal about petroleum retail and the world of wetstock, I’ve learned that good relationships are the basis of a good company. The technology and products Leighton O’Brien offers are amazing but we have to be able to relate to people and help them become as effective as possible in their role.

On a personal note I’ve learned that I’m more adaptable than I thought prior to working for Leighton O’Brien!

If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would you choose and why?

Maybe a professional sportsperson and live out my dream of being a superstar AFL footballer.

What are the last 3 streaming series or movies you’ve binged on?

Barry, Ozark, and The Last Dance.

If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?

Instagram, Facebook and Amazon (I did a lot of online shopping during lockdown).
