Leighton O'Brien's Pascal Perfect certification tests are the most convenient and sensitive precision test for new tanks, using a pressure transducer that is accurate to 1/7000 of a psi.

Across the thousands of new tank systems tested with Leighton O'Brien's Pascal Perfect certification tests, none have ever reported a leak. Used by oil majors around the world, This test is conducted in two stages; pre-bury testing, and post-bury certification test.

Our qualified technicians assess all connections, fittings and lines for leaks using the Pascal Perfect sensor, which is so responsive that even the most minute pressure changes are detected. Leighton O'Brien technicians consult with the installer to identify the locations of minor faults and leaks. Only when the Leighton O'Brien's Pascal Perfect certification tests confirms that all connections, fittings, lines and tanks are literally PERFECT will burial and concreting occur.

The aim of pre-bury testing is to ensure a tight UST system before burial. This test takes place after all construction work on the tank field including running electrical conduit is completed.

Pascal Perfect pre-bury testing includes:

• Tank ullages and wetted portion
• Tank interstice(s)
• Primary product lines
• Secondary product lines
• Vent lines
• Secondary vent lines
• (Stage II) Vapour recovery lines (where applicable)
• Secondary stage II vapour recovery lines (where applicable)
 

The aim of certification testing is to ensure the UST system has not been disrupted during back fill and concreting and to meet the standard regulatory requirements.

Post-bury certification testing includes:

• Tank ullages and wetted portion
• Tank interstitial
• Primary product lines
• Secondary product lines
• Vent lines
• Secondary vent lines
• (Stage II) Vapour recovery lines (where applicable)
• Secondary stage II vapour recovery lines (where applicable)
• Leak detector testing
• ATG certification
• Stage II pressure decay, dynamic back pressure and A/L testing (where applicable)
